how The project’s curators, Alexandrina Markvo, Alinda Sbragia and Christina Steinbrecher, have brought together seventeen most interesting contemporary artists from all over the world. The list includes Marina Abramovich, Samuel Adams, AES+F, Artists Anonymous, Angelo Bucarelli, Wim Delvoye, Vadim Zakharov, Miltos Manetas, Almagul Menlibaeva, Angelo Musco, Youssef Nabil, Velena Nikova, Jaume Plensa, Olympia Scarry, Olga Soldatova, Dasha Fursey and Aristarkh Chernyshev.
The works of the star cast center around the theme of love, a theme that presents an opportunity to think about the big questions of life and that was interpreted in so many non-trivial ways in the 00’s – from love for luxury to the love of suffering. By mixing different aesthetic registers and playing expertly with the viewers’ feelings and emotions, UNCONDITIONAL LOVE presents a broad study of the theme of love – from deeply intimate to conceptual art. The show consciously aims to have a deep physical effect on the viewers and invites them to generate their own emotions, deep feelings for every piece of art; to become a part of the world created by the artists and curators. The show successfully opened on July 3 and has already had more than 70 thousand visitors. It was named among ten best projects at the Biennale by the Artè magazine, and Vanity Fair listed it as one of the five most interesting shows.
